Location – Homebased (within Essex with the ability to travel within the County)
Hours – 12 hours per week
Working Pattern – 3 nights a week on rotating shift pattern (11pm to 3am)
Salary – £21,500 pro rata per annum
Closing date – 27th May 2022

Summary
The Appropriate Adult Duty Pager Holder will respond to requests via a pager system for an Appropriate Adult to attend a police station within Essex. Between the hours of 11pm and 3am, you may attend the custody suites to support as an Appropriate Adult.

What you’ll be doing
You will act as a pager holder to facilitate and co-ordinate the on-call service and be the primary link between the police and the volunteers. Should the call be for an Appropriate Adult between the hours of 11pm and 3am, you will attend the custody suite to support the interview taking place.

What you need
– You will be flexible, and able to work night shifts.
– Understanding of PACE would be desirable, but training can be given.
– Ability to drive and access to a car.
– Excellent communication, time management and administrative skills.
– A willingness to learn and work with a variety of people.
– Have a clear understanding of, and a commitment to safeguarding best practice.
– A commitment and ability to work in partnership with other agencies to achieve good outcomes for service users.

This position is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service at Enhanced Adult and Child level.
