How long have you volunteered on the SOS Bus?
3 years
What appealed to you to sign up as an SOS Bus volunteer?
Seeing how much joy my dad got out of volunteering for the past 10 years made me want to do the same, it’s also something that interests me, why not help people who need it?
What do you enjoy about volunteering on the SOS Bus?
No two shifts are the same and most people you meet just want a chat, you can learn so much in one shift!
What perks do you get from volunteering?
You get to know people you are working with from doctors to teachers to office workers but you all have one thing in common with doing the bus! You also get to know local police, bouncers and bar owners which can come in handy on a night out!!
What challenges do you face from the role?
You are faced with new challenges and problems every shift which means you have to work to adapt quickly
What would you say to someone considering applying to be a volunteer on the SOS Bus?
Do it, you won’t regret it
