How long have you volunteered on the SOS Bus?
I have been an SOS Bus volunteer since summer 2019
What appealed to you to sign up as an SOS Bus volunteer?
My friend was telling how she loves it, so I thought why not.
What do you enjoy about volunteering on the SOS Bus?
I enjoy the camaraderie, & helping our young and old to be safe.
What perks do you get from volunteering?
I would say that it makes you feel like you are making a difference, if only taking the strain off our Ambulance service, plus Macdonalds, tea coffee and good hearted banter.
What challenges do you face from the role?
Some patients can become quite challenging, but we are given training to be there to diffuse, help and step back if the patient or friends get too confrontational
What would you say to someone considering applying to be a volunteer on the SOS Bus?
DO IT! You will find it so rewarding and will meet some amazing people
