SOS Community Bus, PHAB Project.
The SOS Bus is pleased to announce it has been awarded some funding to support the Public Health Acceleration Bid.
Research has shown that our communities are struggling to access various appointments and support networks. Perhaps they live in a rural community where the public transport links do not work around their appointment times, or they no longer have their own transport due to the cost of living crisis or their anxiety is restricting them leaving their comfort zone.
The SOS bus is committed to ensuring everyone accesses the services they need, and we are proud to already be partnering with, Diabetes UK, NHS, Citizens Advice Bureau, Suffolk & North East Essex Integrated Care Board and Essex Sexual Health Service to name just a few.
If you have a health or social service you would like to take into the communities, do reach out to us and we can discuss how we can achieve this. The Public Acceleration Bid covers the cost of the hire of the bus with a driver.
The bus has a medical room, equipped with the latest medical equipment and a medical fridge.
We will arrange all the necessary parking permissions, all you need to do is bring your medical/social support professionals and we will do the rest!
You can Book the bus Free of Charge for half a day, all day or even visit multiple places in one day. There is no restrictions to how many times you can hire the bus within the 18 month programme.
