Message from our Chief Executive, Sarah Wright
As we look ahead to celebrating 35 years of Open Road in November 2025, I’m proud to introduce our new Strategic Plan for 2025–2030 – which outlines our vision for the future of Open Road and the communities we serve.
This plan reflects everything we’ve learned over the past five years – through challenge, innovation, and growth. From the disruption of the pandemic to the pressures facing our communities today, we have not only endured but expanded our reach, developed new services, and deepened our impact.
The next five years will see us reduce harm, support recovery, and rebuild lives with more reach, more inclusion, and more determination than ever. Whether it’s launching a new SOS Bus for Mid Essex, expanding our digital support, or championing those with lived experience, every goal in this plan keeps people – their stories, their needs, their hopes – at the centre of everything we do.
We will continue to work in close partnership with funders, commissioners, community groups, alongside our incredible volunteers and staff. Together, we are building a future where fewer people face challenges alone – and where every person can access the support they need to thrive.
