For over 40 years, Directory of Social Change, also known as DSC, has helped make tens of thousands of charities stronger. A part of this is the annual DSC Social Change Awards, which celebrate passionate individuals and organisations committed to making a positive impact on society.

Sarah Wright the Charities Chief Executive Officer said:

‘We are really pleased to announce that, this year, our Welfare and Criminal Justice Manager, Steve Wood has been shortlisted in DSC’s ‘Outstanding Contribution’ award category and urge everyone to get online and vote for him on the DSC’s website.

Steve began with Open Road as a volunteer, before successfully starting work with us in 2000. He has a plethora of knowledge and experience, having since led our North and South Essex frontline teams who provide drug and alcohol treatment services to our clients on their journey to recovery.

In more recent years, Steve’s role has moved to oversee our various, wide ranging welfare projects and our criminal justice services, whose dedicated teams support some of the most vulnerable people in our local communities.’

This award is for individuals who have made a major contribution to an organisation or community and have devoted their time and energy to achieving sustained positive change, over the span of their working life. Their work will demonstrate measurable positive results and changes that have made a difference to individuals or the wider community.

Voting closes at 5pm on Monday 2 December!
