This month’s Open Road Podcast is the latest in a series of open and frank discussions with people involved in our charity and harm reduction work, from servivce users who have been through our recovery plans, to frontline staff, and healthcare professionals. Featuring, Basildon our Engagement Co-ordinator, Jamie McLennan and shot and edited by volunteer Lorraine McLennan, this edition talks to Renato Masetti BA (Hons) PGCE (Dip ED), who is the Essex Drug and Alcohol Co-ordinator for EPUT NHS Trust, co-ordinating and developing training opportunities in the field of substance use.
Ren has been training in the field for over 25 years delivering his own unique and engaging training style. He is a qualified teacher and has a background teaching both adults and young people in a variety of settings. He has a certificate in Addictive Behaviour from St Georges Medical School and a Certificate in Relationship Psychotherapy – having been training in the field for over 25 years delivering his own unique and engaging training style.
Ren is a qualified teacher and has a background teaching both adults and young people in a variety of settings. He has a certificate in Addictive Behaviour from St Georges Medical School and a Certificate in Relationship Psychotherapy from Thames Valley University. In 2007, he was awarded the Tom Waller Harm Reduction Award and in 2023 he won the Quality and Excellence Award for Training from Essex NHS Trust. He has a special interest in New Psychoactive Substances and has presented papers at various conferences across the country on this subject.
We tried to deliver something insightful, informative and educational, touching on a few different subjects. It’s was great fun to record and always a pleasure to work with Ren.
