Yasmin and Lauren from the young people services in Southend and Thurrock are completing a walking challenge to raise money and awareness of the hidden harm services that they provide.
we will be completing a 21 mile walk from Southend to Thurrock in an attempt to raise awareness for our Hidden Harm service. Our aim is to raise awareness of Hidden Harm itself, as well as to highlight the support we have already provided to the number of young people throughout the surrounding area.
! We will be completing the walk on 05.09.25 and are aiming to raise £500, all of which will be going towards improving our service, providing outreach activities and resources.
UPDATE:
The walk was a great success , the weather was on our side, and aside from a couple of blisters, the girls absolutely smashed it without a single complaint.
Thank you to everyone who supported us and helped spread the word by sharing our social media posts. A special mention to Michaela for keeping our social channels updated throughout the day. This was not an easy task, especially with me constantly sending over photos!
We’re also hugely grateful to the Thurrock team from both Open Road and Forward Trust for the heartfelt welcome as the girls arrived at the service. It meant so much.
There’s still time to donate, so please do continue to share the post if you can.
