Get involved Being Part Of The Team What it's like to work for Open Road Criminal Justice and Welfare Criminal Justice and Welfare Services Criminal Justice and Welfare Manager Responsible for managing a number of volunteer led projects, the Criminal Justice and Welfare Manager ensures they are delivered in line with the service specifications, and manages and leads a team of Co-ordinators, Team Leaders and Duty Officers to ensure the projects are delivered according to service contracts. SOS Buses SOS Bus Co-ordinator Co-ordinates the SOS Buses service across Essex by overseeing the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteers to ensure SOS Bus service provision in Colchester and Chelmsford. SOS Bus Team Leader The SOS Bus Team leader leads and supervises the volunteer’s throughout the SOS Bus shift, and deal with any issues that arise throughout the night to ensure a smooth and efficient running service. SOS Bus Driver The SOS Bus Driver maintains the SOS Buses, ensuring they are kept in pristine condition, and moved to and from site for the weekend shifts. SOS Bus Volunteer The SOS Bus Volunteers work as a team to provide support to those in need. Volunteers demonstrate the ability to listen, help, support, communicate, smile, respect confidentiality, be a calming influence, direct to or contact other services and most important of all – want to help others. Drinkaware Drinkaware Crew Member Working together in pairs, the Drinkaware crew provide support to customers within local venues who are potentially vulnerable because of excessive alcohol. Essex Appropriate Adult Service Senior Appropriate Adult Duty Officer Providing support and supervision to the Duty Officer’s, Pager Holders and Volunteers, the Senior Appropriate Adult Duty Officer responds to requests via a pager system for an Appropriate Adult to attend a police station within Essex. Appropriate Adult Duty Officer The Appropriate Adult Duty Officer responds to requests via a pager system for an Appropriate Adult to attend a police station within Essex, and acts as the primary link between the police, volunteers and other statutory / voluntary organisations to ensure service provision. Appropriate Adult Night Pager Holder Responsible for manning the Appropriate Adult Pager out of hours, and responding to requests and attending custody within Essex. Women’s Support Service (CRC) and Substance Misuse Mentoring Service Senior Women’s Support Worker Responsible for the development, co-ordination and delivery of the Women’s Support and Substance Misuse Mentoring Service, providing community support to Women Offenders under the supervision of Essex CRC, including the volunteer mentor programme, which includes inducting, training and retention of volunteer mentors. The Substance Misuse Mentoring Service is open to both female and male offenders. Women’s Support Worker The Women’s Support Worker is responsible for the development and co-ordination of the Women’s Support and Substance Misuse Mentoring Service, providing community support to Women Offenders under the supervision of Essex CRC, including the volunteer mentor programme, which includes recruitment and retention of volunteer mentors. Volunteer Mentor (Women’s Service) Volunteer Mentor’s provide one-to-one support to offenders from a range of backgrounds and circumstances, usually meeting in a community setting.
