Counsellor (Military Corrective Training Centre)

Self Employed Counsellor
Location – Colchester, Essex
To cover 7 x 1 hour sessions per week (7 hours per week)
£16.00 per hour


The role of the MCTC Counsellor is to provide therapy sessions to service personnel who have drug and alcohol problems and those who have associated mental health problems.

What you’ll be doing

As the MCTC Counsellor, you will be self employed and have an Accredited BACP Counselling qualification and BACP membership. You will provide one-to-one counselling sessions for service personnel from the Military Corrective Training Centre including specific anger management counselling sessions as and when required. You will work with the MCTC welfare team to develop and sustain effective treatment plans to review on a regular basis.

What you need –

- Self employed status.
- An Accredited BACP Counselling qualification and BACP membership.
- To have a knowledge of key issues such as anger management, mental health and substance misuse.
- Have the ability to work with service users in an empathetic and non-judgemental way.
