Basildon Centre

Open Road's Basildon Centre has an open access drop-in is available for anyone to access for advice, information, support, assessment and access to more formal treatment with drug or alcohol recovery. Read more

Chelmsford Centre

Open Road's Chelmsford centre is located in Mansard House, on New London Road. Our Open Access service provides the opportunity for support, advice and information on a daily basis. We can do Personalised Assessments on the same day, which will signpost the service user to effective interventions and treatments. Read more

Recovery Support

We recognise that Recovery does not happen in isolation – it is generally learned from other people who have gone down the same road and who are in a good position to ‘mentor’ or model our methods and principles of recovery. Our support services and activities build on and maintain clients’ progress and wellbeing. Read more

Clacton Centre

Open Road's Clacton Centre operates a drop in needle exchange and open access support on an appointment basis. We run a friendly and non-judgmental service with a member of the team available for support, advice or initial assessment. Read more

Needle and Syringe Programme

The Needle & Syringe Programme is for injecting drug users. We provide sterile injecting equipment and associated paraphernalia; i.e. sterile swabs and safe disposal bins. We give advice on harm minimisation and health related issues. Read more

Colchester Centre

Open Road's Colchester site is our longest established treatment centre, conveniently located in the town centre. We offer open access for anyone who would like advice, information, support, assessment and access to more formal treatment. Read more

Drop in services

We provide a warm and inviting Drop-in service where no appointment is necessary. Anyone affected by drugs and alcohol including friends and family can drop in for support. Read more

Open Road and the Probation Service work in partnership across Essex to deliver a Support and Substance Misuse Mentor Service specifically for women. Read more

We work with CRCs (probation services) to deliver a Mentor Service for men and women with substance misuse issues. Read more

SWEAT Volunteer

The ‘SWEAT’ project (Steroids, Weights, Education And Therapy) provides a specialist service for users of Steroids / Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs. Read more

Substance Misuse Mentoring Service

In Southend and Thurrock Open Road works with men and women who are on community orders, prison licences and supervision. We provide one-to-one mentoring to help people move on with their lives. Read more
