An Open Road SOS Bus & Essex Appropriate Adult Service volunteer has scooped the Individual Adult Volunteer Awards at the "Who Will Care Awards 2019" on 22nd May 2019.

Phil Richards deservedly received the award following a nomination by the Criminal Justice and Welfare Service Area Manager Steve Wood who attended the event on behalf of Phil to collect the award.

Speaking of the reasons for Phil's nomination, Steve said:

"Phil was nominated for this award for his time & dedication firstly for the SOS Bus. Phil had supported the project every Friday and Saturday, for months, never letting us down, always there, every weekend! Phil also went on to supporting the London SOS bus by volunteering & also driving the bus to and from London, which was instrumental in us being able to provide this service. Phil also brought along his knowledge around some processes that we have implemented into the SOS Buses.

Secondly, Phil also supports the EAA service offering good coverage and a lot of time supporting those in need.

Thirdly, Phil also works for another charity in his "spare time" by offering support in a kitchen."

Open Road congratulates Phil on receiving this award and expresses thanks for all that he is doing for us along with our 200+ volunteer team.
