Probation Liaison
Research suggests that substance misuse problems are a significant underlying feature related to offending. Open Road works extensively with clients who are on Community Rehabilitation Orders and DTTO’s /DRR’s (Drug Treatment & Testing Orders/Drug Rehabilitation Requirements).
Screening assessments at the Probation Office are followed up with full assessments at Open Road and ongoing therapy programmes for appropriate clients. Contact with Open Road can take the place of reporting to the Probation Officer – often a bonus for both client and Probation!
A therapy programme at Open Road allows a focus on the underlying issues related to offending behaviour/substance misuse whilst close liaison with the supervising Probation Officers promotes effective joint working on all the relevant issues. Many Probation Clients appear to respond positively to the holistic approach and less formal environment of Open Road. |
