Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) is one of the oldest forms of medicine on the planet and can be traced back over four thousand years.  Over this time the understanding of the herbs (referred to as the “thousand forgotten foods”) has been constantly systematised and refined.  Herbs are used both to treat symptoms of a disease and to address the underlying health of the patient, thereby ensuring that treatment is as effective and safe as possible.  Once a prescription has been decided upon, herbs, fruits and roots are mixed into bags.  Each bag is then boiled and the fluid drunk two to three times a day.  Though the taste may be slightly unpleasant at first, most people soon get used to the flavours, each of which brings its own important beneficial effect.

Many people use herbal medicine simply to maintain good nutrition and optimum health, though it is increasingly being used to help such health problems as:

Digestive Disorders
Gynaecological problems
Stress and Anxiety
Aches and Pains
Skin Complaints
